  • "I have a Jeep Wrangler that developed limp mode, locked in 2nd gear. I took it in at 8am with expectations that they’d only be able to analyze the cause of the problem. I took the dogs for a walk. At 10am they texted me that they had repaired the vehicle. It was a missing ground wire, probably chewed by rodents. The mechanic made the effort to discover the cause of the problem and correct it. They spliced in a wire and the problem was solved. This excellent service was in contrast to a shop in San Luis Obispo that had conducted an analysis the prior week; we were on Christmas vacation there when the problem developed. They charged me $185 to determine that there was a missing ground between the main fuse box and the transmission, telling me to return the following week for repairs. In contrast, Perry’s charged me $235 to REPAIR THE ISSUE! Being new to the Redding area, I was in search of an honest, dependable and reasonable repair shop. No longer. Perry’s has become my go-to shop. Thank you for wonderful service."

  • "I have been bringing my vehicles (VW, Mazda, Buick, Ford, and Trailblazer) to Perry’s for decades. They have always been above board and transparent in all our dealings. On my most recent visit, I had my 1993 Ford F-250 towed in. It is a work truck that gets little to no use each month. Seldom used equates to seldom maintained. One of the rear brakes would not release. Perry’s did a free comprehensive inspection that revealed necessary repairs to not only the rear brakes and drums, but axle seals, front brake hoses, master cylinder, and crankshaft balancing issues among others. Most of these items I was at least partly aware of before bringing the vehicular into the shop. An estimate was prepared that revealed that the cost of repairs exceeded the value of the vehicle. I felt no obligation to proceed with the repairs coming from Perry’s. Furthermore, they fully understood my need to take some time to make a decision.
